Killarney Community College student Zac Dwyer had a smile painted on his face after winning a nationwide 'Design Your ' competition run by Trinity College Dublin. As part of Trinity's Crann and Science Gallery's 'nanoscience schools' competition, Zac used his knowledge of nanoscience to design a nano superhero named Firewall. As part of his prize, Zac's superhero will be brought to life by a professional cartoonist and will be featured in an international nanoscience forum, Euro Nano Forum, taking place in Dublin's Convention Centre in June 2013.
"Zac is thrilled to have won such a prestigious and competitive event", says teacher Andrea Thornton. "He is a very talented artist and we are so proud of his achievement." The CRANN Centre in Trinity College have also extended an invitation to Zac and his friends to visit their science gallery and learn more about nanoscience.
