RTE Filming in KCC - Broadcast 9th October 2020
WELL DONE to Be Dementia Aware and their teacher Ms. Lorraine Crowley on a very exciting event here in the college. On 14th September 2020, Bláthnaid Treacy from RTÉ's "Today with Maura and Dáithí" interviewed this inspirational group of students and their teacher about the dementia awareness campaign the students started working on as part of their Young Social Innovators class in September 2018. Two years on, they are now nominated for a National Garda Youth Achievement Award and RTÉ chose to film the group as part of this nomination.
"The dedication and care Be Dementia Aware showed throughout this project is an inspiration to all young people. Caoimhe, Julia, Ben, Aoife and Darja showed amazing commitment and passion as they worked tirelessly to promote awareness of Dementia and support families and people who have dementia. This award nomination is very well deserved and to be filmed by RTÉ has been the icing on the cake for the 5 students. It was such a fun afternoon with Bláthnaid and camera man Conor". Ms. Lorraine Crowley
